Where to Find a Human Skull in Eso

There are a few "hidden" furnishings in the Elder Scrolls Online, objects that you'll occasionally spot in guild traders or zone chats, or else see displayed proudly in someone's house.

But how do you get them for yourself?

1. Pickpocketing and Stealing

Nobles, priests, scholars, and guards have the highest chance to drop good treasure, so seek them out in whatever zone you visit. They can drop placeable items like spools, stacks of leather, cloth, hand-mirrors, dice, wanted posters, skulls, and more. Drunkards can also drop elusive purple Skooma Bubblers and their plans.

To successfully pickpocket the rarest items, always be sure to use the "pickpocket, pickpocket, Blade of Woe" method. Each sequential pickpocket increases your chances of a good drop, but NPCs will always be empty by the third time.

In the same vein, poking your nose into NPCs' safeboxes can also surprise you – reportedly even with a Shimmering Cheese (in Vvardenfell).

2. The Bequeather

The Bequeather (Remains Silent) is unlocked by levelling your Dark Brotherhood skill line and slotting a skill point into the passive. Once per day, you can visit her in any of the Outlaw's Refuges to select one type of helpful item – as well as a random chance to get a furniture drop.

She can give Poisoned Blood, a Sacrifical Heart, Candles of Silence, or Light and Shadows (a candle in a skull), so it's worth making a pit-stop there to try your luck.

3. Quest Rewards

There is a quest in Vvardenfell that gives you Sir Sock's Ball of Yarn upon completion. You can collect free target dummies with the Clockwork City DLC – one for each character you have.

Doing the Murkmire introductory dailies in Shadowfen yields a chance to drop Murkmire-themed items like vases and plates. There's also a small chance to get an Ashlander furnishing item when you complete dailies in Ald'ruhn in Vvardenfell.

Finally, most of the DLC storylines bestow a Collectible Furnishing (that can be placed across multiple homes without using a slot!).

4. Dungeons

Certain dungeons can reward you with a piece of furniture either on completion, or when killing mobs.

Depths of Malatar sometimes drops Magna Geodes, a decent source of light (though still not as good as the luxury vendor's Culanda Stones). And I recently got a Palisade from Frostvault in my reward coffer.

You can also get plans from many dungeons. I've had rare Dwarven plans drop in Darkshade Caverns I from the dwarven constructs. The new Scalebreaker dungeons can drop a rare Elsweyr plan on the final bosses, too.

5. Fishing

Fishing can yield surprisingly good hauls, from actual fish furnishings (blue small/medium/large fish and salmon, bass, and trout), clams and shells, and aquatic plants like coral or kelp.

Furnishings can come from surprising sources. What are your favourites?
